Synopsis: Restricted to nesting in a very few sites in central Lake (Sycan Marsh) and southern Grant (Bear-Logan Valleys) Counties. Was not found during the atlas project period at historic nesting sites in Crook (Big Summit Prairie) and Umatilla (Ukiah) Counties. Of interest is the record from Morrow County (not confirmed).

Grassland & Fir-Ponderosa Interspersed (11023 acres)

Wet Montane Meadow (1289 acres)

Relative Detectability: Somewhat difficult to spot and to confirm nesting.

Challenge: Determine if species has disappeared entirely from southern Morrow and Umatilla Counties (Ukiah area).
